Terms of Use · Last updated July 28, 2026
The deal, in plain English.
What you can expect from WhatAI, and what we expect from you when you use it to message other people.
1. Agreement
By installing or using WhatAI (“the app”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, uninstall the app. The app is published by Martai.
2. What the app does
WhatAI reads incoming WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business notifications on your Android device and can send an automatic reply to them, using rules you write or an AI engine you configure. It is a tool that acts on your device, at your instruction.
3. Not affiliated with WhatsApp
WhatAI is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc. WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp LLC and is used here only to describe what the app is compatible with. The app does not modify WhatsApp, does not use an unofficial WhatsApp client, and does not access WhatsApp’s servers or APIs. It uses the Android notification system, which is a feature of the operating system.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for every message sent from your device, including messages the app sends automatically. In particular, you agree that you will not use WhatAI to:
- Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or marketing to people who did not ask for it.
- Harass, deceive, defraud, impersonate or mislead anyone.
- Break WhatsApp’s own terms of service, or the laws that apply where you and your recipients live — including consent rules for automated or commercial messaging.
- Automate replies on an account that is not yours, or on a device you do not control.
Messaging platforms restrict accounts that send unwanted messages, whoever sends them. Use the app to answer people who message you first.
5. AI-generated replies
AI engines can be wrong. A generated reply may be inaccurate, oddly worded, or unsuitable for the conversation it lands in. The app takes precautions — it declines to reply to one-time codes and similar sensitive messages, it stays silent when the model is not confident, and it lets you use fixed word-for-word rules instead of AI entirely — but it cannot guarantee that every automatic reply is appropriate.
Review the reply log, and do not rely on automatic replies for anything where a wrong answer would be costly — medical, legal, financial, or emergency communication.
6. Cloud AI engines and API keys
If you enable a cloud engine you supply your own API key from Google or Anthropic. Your use of those services is governed by your agreement with that provider, and any usage charges they bill are yours. Keep your key private; anyone with access to your unlocked phone could read it.
7. Reliability
The app works hard to stay running in the background — a keep-alive service, a watchdog and a restart after reboot — but Android, your phone manufacturer’s battery manager, and WhatsApp itself all sit outside our control and can stop it. The app’s Reliability screen tells you what to fix. We do not guarantee that every message will receive an automatic reply.
8. Free and paid features
The app is free to download and use. The free tier includes a daily allowance of AI-generated replies; rule-based replies are unlimited. If a paid tier is offered in future it will be sold through Google Play, and Google’s refund policy will apply to it.
9. No warranty
The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You use it at your own risk.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Martai is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost business, lost data, or reputational harm, arising from your use of the app — including from a reply the app sent or failed to send. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Changes and termination
We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, which also deletes its local data.
